What are Blocked Websites?
Blocked websites refer to sites that the Pitchlane recording bot could not access, which prevents the bot from successfully capturing or rendering video content from those pages. This can happen for various technical and security-related reasons, such as website restrictions or network limitations. Understanding why these blocks occur can help users troubleshoot or make adjustments to optimize their campaigns.
Why might websites get blocked?
Website has a system which stops bots from viewing the page
While our recording bot is programmed in a way to emulate a human as well as possible, there may be some sites that are still able to detect our bot and block our servers.
You will still be able to access this website as a human but they will block our background recording bot.
How to Resolve the Issue
If you encounter blocked pages, there are two options to resolve the issue:
Wait and Retry: If you believe the problems preventing our bot from looking at the page have been resolved, such as if the website has come back online, you can manually rerender your videos. Pitchlane doesn't charge for videos that don't render successfully, so you can rerender your videos without worrying about blowing through your credits.
Switching Locations via Proxy Service: Alternatively, switching to a different location through our built-in proxy service can help bypass restrictions by using a fresh IP address, often allowing the bot to access and render content on the website successfully.
